Researchers engineer microorganisms to tackle PET plastic pollution

NREL and ORNL researchers have developed a method to upcycle PET into performance-advantaged nylon, a precursor to other valuable products such as waterproof clothing, stick-free cookware coatings, and heat-resistant machine parts.
