Micro-Plastics in the Gulf: Analysis Using GIS Technology

With two data sets provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this study seeks to find differences between types of plastics found and the correlation of external facilities to the amount of plastics collected.

Data was analyzed using ArcMap 10.7, ArcGIS Online, and Microsoft Office Excel. All were licenced through the College of Charleston. Population Data was sourced from the 2010 Census and provided in a shapefile in the open source data through the Santee Cooper GIS Labatory at the College of Charleston.
