Three Key Reports In The Last Week All Call For Less Wasted Food

Yesterday’s release of Cities and the Circular Economy of Food by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation marks the third report in the last week where reducing food loss and waste was named as a top priority. The EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health released last week cited halving food loss and waste as one of five strategies urgently needed for the radical food transformation that the planet needs. Meanwhile, in Canada, the Avoidable Crisis of Food Waste published by Second Harvest called for action to reduce its estimate that 58% of Canadian food never gets eaten.
