DOE Webinar April 28: HVAC Right-Sizing Part 1 – Calculating Loads

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Building Technologies Program is offering a webinar on Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Eastern titled “Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Right-Sizing Part 1: Calculating Loads.” Register now to attend this free webinar.

Heating and cooling load calculation is the first, critical step in an iterative design process for right-sizing HVAC systems. Modeled loads create a domino effect, dictating equipment selection and duct design to deliver the appropriate volume (or amount) of conditioned air to the rooms of the home.

This webinar, presented by IBACOS (a Building America Research Team) will highlight the key criteria required to create accurate heating and cooling load calculations. Current industry rules of thumb, perceptions and barriers to right-sizing HVAC will also be discussed.

Target audiences include residential builders, HVAC design firms, HVAC contractors, HVAC installers, HVAC manufacturers and distributors.
