Tribes see effect of climate changes

Global warming is often thought of as a distant threat, a set of dire consequences that might one day occur if people don’t change their habits.

But on the Native American reservations scattered throughout Arizona and the rest of the country, it’s already changing lives.

Representatives from more than 50 tribes throughout the United States gathered at the Cocopah Reservation near Yuma on Tuesday for a two-day conference on climate change.
