It’s recycling at its best, say experts.
In Wisconsin, the Department of Natural Resources, with guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, oversees who can spread it, how it’s spread and where it can be spread.
But some Dane County officials, including Executive Kathleen Falk, want the county to be the first in the state to take over regulation of spreading septic and holding tank waste, known in the industry as “septage.”
